The following is a list of local bus agencies in the United States, ranked by ridership. All figures are unlinked passenger trips for the stated time period and come from the Federal Transit Administration's National Transit Database (NTD).[1]

The NTD categorizes ridership data by type of service: directly operated (DO) and purchased transportation (PT). The data below shows the sum of these two values for each transit agency. We only show the top 100 agencies with the most ridership in 2023.
