The "head" of my guestbook...[edit]

Hi. I removed the top most notice on my guestbook about being "Wikibonked". I assume that was the one you were talking about? Got rid of it on all my userpagess too... Huggums537 Vote! (guest🖋️book) or (suggestion🗳️box)? 05:48, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Huggums537 I'm not sure what you're talking about, please provide a diff. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 14:12, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Huggums537, At a second look, I meant the giant head that comes from the left every few seconds. Please disable it. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 18:48, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jimbo peeking.gif, to be even more specific. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 18:48, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Consider it gone. I'm easy to please... 😀 Huggums537 Vote! (guest🖋️book) or (suggestion🗳️box)? 06:51, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism, I Guess...[edit]

Is using your own opinions in Wikipedia articles vandalism, cause someone did it in the Photomath Wikipedia Article. The first line in the article's description appears to be the person's opinion of the app, since there's no citation and proof of that person's statement. I don't know if that's enough to judge if that's a personal opinion. Dulton100 (talk) 20:24, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, vandalism, I've reverted the IP and blocked them. They're a proxy that hasn't done anything constructive in their life.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:34, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Bbb23, thanks. Was AFK and thank you for stepping in! — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 21:08, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dulton100, do note that you can use {{uw-npov1}} or {{uw-npov2}} for this purpose, just as an NPOV warning. But yes, I agree with Bbb23 above. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 21:11, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Dulton100 (talk) 21:23, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary comments[edit]

Comments like this are not productive. There was already an administrator response. You don't need to double down on that. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:42, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ScottishFinnishRadish, sorry, will try to avoid that in future. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 21:55, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You should also avoid lurking on admin talk pages to offer incorrect advice as you did here. Giving the wrong information is worse than providing nothing at all. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 13:52, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, TheTechie,

The fastest way to get an admin response if you want to move a draft over a main space redirect is, using Twinkle, select CSD>G6 Move and put the name of the page to be moved in the available field. That provides a link to the draft and with one click, an admin can delete the redirect and move the draft with the same edit, rather than going to the draft page and using the page move option. It's just much easier for the patrolling admin. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:15, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Liz,
That's strange, that's what I thought I did. I added the draft name after clicking CSD>G6-AFC Move. Please let me know if I did something wrong. — thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 02:20, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oob records page rejection[edit]

Hi, I am an intern at university in the Netherlands and doing a study on International Business. I created a Wikipedia page to monitor traffic flow and other statistics of a Dutch business. I chose this business because my post graduate end goal is to work in music management. I need to do research of the company for my study, so I wanted to incorporate my findings into a Wikipedia page. This is my first Wikipedia page, and I taught myself from tutorials on Wiki-How.

'What am I doing wrong?' I have found tons of reviews, interviews, and articles about this record label from media sources in multiple countries about OOB Records Artists, and all mention the label. I thought that is what a 'notable' business was, one that has been noted in multiple sources. Do I link all of the 60+ articles I have found and add quotes from them about the artist and label? Do I delete everything and only leave the introduction and wait for other experts like yourself to add more? I just don't see what I did wrong to be denied twice. Thanks for your advice. Because you said I am wasting your time, and if you keep denying my attempts, then you are wasting my time too. So, how, can we solve this problem? Should I send you all the links to all of the credible sources and let you take over? Or can you explain what I need to do, with examples.

I am a student after all, and I need to learn how to do this as I want to have an understanding about Wikipedia. Thanks in advance for your help Stanengebrink (talk) 09:42, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
