ČEZ Basketball Nymburk

ČEZ Basketball Nymburk is a team that plays in the top professional Czech basketball league, the NBL. The team is based in the town of Nymburk. The main sponsor is ČEZ, a Czech energy company.
The team won the Czech league in 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 and has played in several European basketball competitions (currently playing ULEB Cup). Former players include Darius Washington Jr., former NCAA champion and NBA player George Zidek, who is the team's current press speaker, as well as naturalized Czech Maurice Whitfield. Until early 2008, they were coached by Israeli Muli Katzurin, assisted by his fellow countryman Ronen Ginzburg. The home court of the senior team is Sportovní centrum[1] (seating capacity 1000)[2] and ULEB Eurocup games are played at ČEZ Arena.[1]
