České Středohoří (German: Böhmisches Mittelgebirge) is a mountain range located in northern Bohemia, Czech Republic. It is called "Středohoří" (Mittelgebirge, in English often translated as Central Mountains) even though it is not in the middle of the country. Its peaks are of volcanic origin; the highest is Milešovka (836 m). The range is about 80 km long, spanning from Česká Lípa (northeast) to Bílina (southwest) and from Litoměřice (south) to Děčín (north), intersected by the river Elbe. The České Středohoří is a nature reserve (Czech: Chráněná krajinná oblast, abbreviated as CHKO). The mountains can be crossed by Highway D8, connecting Prague and Dresden.
