Ísafjarðarbær (66°04′N 23°09′W / 66.067°N 23.150°W / 66.067; -23.150Coordinates: 66°04′N 23°09′W / 66.067°N 23.150°W / 66.067; -23.150) is a municipality of Iceland in the Westfjords region, created in 1996 from Flateyrarhreppur, Ísafjarðarkaupstaður, Mosvallahreppur, Mýrahreppur, Suðureyrarhreppur and Þingeyrarhreppur.

It has an area of 2,416 km² and a population of 3,824.

Geography[edit]

The principal settlement is Ísafjörður, others being Hnífsdalur, Flateyri, Suðureyri and Þingeyri.

Transport[edit]

The municipality is served by Ísafjörður Airport.
