Ţăndărei (Romanian pronunciation: [t͡səndəˈrej]) is a town in Ialomiţa County, Romania, with a population of 12,000. It is located on the Bărăgan Plain and it is crossed by the Ialomiţa River. It was declared a town in 1968.
