The 168 Hour Film Project is a week-long (168 hours) international Christian film competition. John Ware is the founder and executive director.[1] The 2007 winner was A Good Day, by husband and wife Wes and Amanda Llewellyn.[2] Films premiere at the 168 Hour Film Festival in April in Los Angeles. Producers have 1 week to film and edit a 11-minute movie based on a theme and a Bible verse.[3] All films created during the production week premiere at the 168 Film Festival. At the end of the festival, awards are given to the producers.

In 2003, the 168 Film Project started with 13 entries. That number went up to 53 films in 2004, and 57 in 2005. In 2006, entries were cut off at 54 to keep it manageable. All 54 films were shown at the prestigious Alex Theatre in Glendale, California. In the last six years, the 168 Hour Film Project has made 300 short films in over 20 countries.

2010 is the eighth year of the 168 Hour Film Project. More than half of the year's 168 Project teams are from the Los Angeles area. A jury will grant awards in 18 categories, with the team that wins best film receiving $12,000 in cash and prizes.[4]
