The 1921–22 League of Ireland was the 1st season of top-tier football in the present-day Republic of Ireland (then Southern Ireland). It began on September 17, 1921 and ended on December 17, 1921. St James's Gate was the 1st champion.

Overview[edit]

The 1st season of League of Ireland consisted of 8 teams in a single division known as 'Division A'. All 8 teams were from Dublin. The teams that competed in the 1st season were: Bohemians, Dublin United, Frankfort, Jacobs, Olympia, St. James's Gate, Shelbourne and YMCA. Bohemians and Shelbourne previously played in the Irish League.
