Coordinates: 15°36′33″N 39°26′43″E / 15.609167°N 39.445278°E / 15.609167; 39.445278 The 1921 Massawa Earthquake was a seismic movement that took place off the coast of Massawa, Eritrea on 1921-08-14. The first aftershock after the initial earthquake was of similar magnitude. Significant damage was caused to the harbour at Massawa with a number of deaths reported.[1] After shocks were felt as far away as Asmara and Dekemhare
