The 1991–92 NBA season was the Pistons' 44th season in the NBA and 35th season in the city of Detroit.[1] As the “Bad Boys” era was fading, the Pistons were eliminated in five games in the first round of the playoffs by the New York Knicks.[2] The Pistons would not return to the playoffs until 1996.
