The 1997–98 season was the 83rd season of the Isthmian League (known as the 1997–98 Ryman League for sponsorship reasons).

Season summary[edit]

The league had four divisions with the top flight, The Premier Division, being won by Kingstonian. They were promoted to the Conference. Division One was won by Aldershot Town, Division Two by Canvey Island and Division Three by Hemel Hempstead Town.

The Ryman League Cup was won by Sutton United.
