The 1997-98 Miami Heat season is the tenth season of the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Heat finished first in the Atlantic Division with a 55-27 record. However in the playoffs, they would lose five games in the first round to the New York Knicks. Center Alonzo Mourning and Knicks forward Larry Johnson were suspended for their vicious brawl in Game 4. Guard Tim Hardaway was the only member of the team to be selected in the 1998 NBA All-Star Game.
