The 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup was held in the United States and won by the host team.[1][2] The final between the U.S. and China, held on July 10 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California was the most-attended women's sports event in history with an official attendance of 90,185.[3] The final was scoreless after extra time and won by the U.S. in a penalty shootout[4]
