1 Journal Square

1 Journal Square is an approved apartment complex at Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey. It will consists of two skyscraper that will have 1,615 units on top a 7 story base with 70,000 square feet (6,500 m2) of retail space and 680 parking spaces. The buildings were designed by Becker + Becker Associates and are being developed by Harwood Properties. Though scheduled to be completed in 2010, as of July 2011 construction had not begun. The north tower will have 68 floors and the south tower will have 50.[1] The buildings that formerly occupied the construction site were demolished on April 8, 2009.[2]
