The 2000-01 Miami Heat season is the 13th season of the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] Before the start of the season, Alonzo Mourning suffered a kidney disorder and only played 13 games. The Heat finished second in the Atlantic Division with a 50–32 record. In the first round of the playoffs, they were swept three games by the Charlotte Hornets. Forward Anthony Mason was selected for the 2001 NBA All-Star Game in his only year with the Heat.
