In the 2000-01 NHL season, 93 hat tricks were scored during the 1,230-game regular season and none were scored in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Overall, the Pittsburgh Penguins led all teams in hat tricks with 8, while Pavel Bure and Alexei Kovalev each had 4 to lead all skaters.
