The 2002 United States Open Championship was the 102nd U.S. Open. The event was held between June 13 and June 16 at Bethpage State Park (Black Course) in New York. The tournament was won by the American golfer Tiger Woods, his second U.S. Open victory and eighth major championship win of his career. He won the tournament by 3 shots from compatriot Phil Mickelson with a score of –3 (3 under par).
