The Hennessey Viper Venom 1000 Twin Turbo is an upgraded version of the Dodge Viper offered for sale as a whole car or as an upgrade by Hennessey Performance Engineering, also known as HPE. It comes in two variants, a coupe and a convertible. It has a theoretical maximum production run of 24 vehicles[1]. HPE claims the Venom 1000 Twin Turbo is "The fastest and most powerful limited-edition street car in the world."[1]

As tested in 2006 by Motor Trend magazine, the coupe variant weighed 3468 lb, cost $187,710, and had a 0.39 drag coefficient.[2]

The stock 2003 Viper V10 motor puts out 500 brake horsepower (370 kW) and 525 foot pounds (712 N·m). HPE increases the output to about 1100 hp (the rear wheels receive 983.5[3] horsepower or 733 kW) and 1,100 ft·lbf (1,490 N·m) (rear wheels receive 981 ft·lbf or 1329 N·m) of torque with the following modifications:

According to testing by Motor Trend in 2005, the Venom failed California emissions testing due to excess carbon monoxide, but is legal in the other 49 states.[4]
