The 2007-08 season was the 105th in the history of the Southern League, which is an English football competition featuring semi-professional and amateur clubs from the South West, South Central and Midlands of England and South Wales.

Division consisted of 22 clubs, including 17 clubs from previous season, four clubs promoted from Division Ones plus one club who had been relegated from the Conference South:

King's Lynn won the Southern League Premier and got a place in the Conference North next year, while play-off winners Team Bath were promoted to the Conference South, though both clubs spent only one season at this level for various reasons. Bromsgrove Rovers, Cirencester Town and Cheshunt finished bottom of the table and were relegated to Division Ones, while Bedford Town, also ended season in relegation zone were reprieved from second relegation in a row after Halifax Town folded and Nuneaton Borough demoted to the Division One.

Shortly before the start of the season Slimbridge (who had been promoted from the Hellenic League) withdrawn with no team to replace it. Therefore, relegation zone was reduced to one place in order to make up the numbers for the 2008-09 season. Division consisted of 21 clubs, including 18 clubs from previous season and three new clubs:

Evesham United won the division and were promoted to the Premier Division along with play-off winners Stourbridge. Berkhamsted finished bottom of the table and were the only club relegated this season.

Farnborough, relegated two divisions down from Conference South, won the division and along with play-off winners Oxford City were promoted to the Premier Division. Slough Town for the second season in a row finished in the relegation zone, but this time were reprieved from it, so only Newport relegated.
