During the 2008–09 season, Eastbourne Borough are participating in the Conference National. This is the first time the East Sussex side have reached their highest league of non-league football. Eastbourne Borough's home games were all played at Priory Lane. Setanta Sports hosted their first live televised home league game against Stevenage Borough on 12 October 2008.[1] Eastbourne finished the season 13th in the Table. This article covers a period from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009.

Team kit[edit]

The team kit for the 2008-09 season is produced by Macron and the shirt sponsors are Hailsham Roadway,[2] for home shirts, and Health Plus for away shirts.

  • 16 July 2008; Hailsham Roadway become the main club sponsor for Eastbourne Borough for the 2008-09 season.[2]

  • 18 November 2008; Barrow defeat Eastbourne in the first round of the FA Cup.[17]
  • 29 November 2009; Darren Baker makes his 800th appearance in 16 years for Eastbourne Borough against Burton Albion.[21]

  • 1 December 2008; Striker, Allan Tait and midfielder, Darren Budd are transfer listed.[22] Tait has transfer listed since November.[23]
  • 11 December 2008; Goalkeeper, Chris Winterton joins Worthing on a one-month loan,[24] while midfielder Darren Budd joins Horsham on dual-registration terms.[25]
  • 30 December 2008: Danny Brown signs a full-time contract lasting until the end of the season.[28]

  • 31 January 2009; Jacob Mingle joins Eastbourne from Horsham for and undisclosed fee, Evan Archibald also returns to Eastbourne.[40]
