The 2009 West Gippsland Latrobe Football League season commenced on 18 April and concluded on 19 September. It was the 10th and final season of the West Gippsland Latrobe Football League competition before it changed its name to the Gippsland Football League.

The Grand Final was played between Maffra and Traralgon, with Maffra taking out the Premiership, their 7th in 10 years.

This season was the last season of Garfield competing before they left for the Ellinbank & District Football League.

It was also the last season before Wonthaggi began competing.
