The 2012 Charleston house fire was a particularly deadly house fire, which started in a two-story house in Charleston, West Virginia. At the time of the fire, there were ten people in the house; a total of nine were killed, including seven children and two adults. Only one person survived the fire, a mother who was injured in the blaze.[1] Many of the children in the house were sleeping over for a birthday party celebration.[2] It's considered to be the most devastating fire ever recorded in the city of Charleston.[3]
