Since (227 - 1)/2 is 113, also a prime, 227 is a safe prime.

It is also a regular prime. 227 is an Eisenstein prime with no imaginary part, and also a Gaussian prime. 227 is a Stern prime since it is not of the form p + 2b^2.

It can be written as the sum of the sum and the product of the first four primes: (2 + 3 + 5 + 7)+(2 \times 3 \times 5 \times 7) = 227
