27711 Kirschvink (1988 VT4) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on November 4, 1988 by C. S. Shoemaker and E. M. Shoemaker at Palomar. It is named after California Institute of Technology professor Joseph L. Kirschvink, who was a student of E. M. Shoemaker as an undergraduate.
