28,000 Friends is the first single from Irish pop singer Eoghan Quigg's debut album Eoghan Quigg. The album was released on 6 April 2009.[1]

Background information

All you need to know is; it's utter rubbish :) The song was written for Quigg by former Busted member James Bourne.[2] The lyrics are about collecting so-called ‘friends’ on sites like MySpace and Facebook and not even knowing who any of them are.[citation needed]

Promotion

On the 3 April, Quigg performed the song on breakfast show GMTV.[citation needed]

Music video

The music video of premiered on Quigg's official bebo site on 6 March 2009.[3] It takes place mainly in an empty building with Quigg singing on a microphone and throughout the video many people come into the building. In another scene, Quigg is standing in a tracksuit singing directly to the camera.

The video began to receive airplay on 18 March 2009 on UK music channels.[citation needed]
