3+ Latvia is a television channel owned by the Modern Times Group broadcasting to the Russian language minority in Latvia from the United Kingdom. It was launched in early 2003.[1]
Its programming consists of simulcasts of Russian entertainment shows, and benefits from MTG's ownership in STS Media and DTV.
Latvia has a large Russian-speaking minority and as terrestrial broadcasting in Russian i restricted, there has been a large growth in cable television where Russian channels are broadcast. 3+ is the second most popular Russian channel in Latvia with a viewing share of 5,2 percent in May 2007, ahead of Ren TV Baltic, but after the dominating Pervyi Baltiiskii Kanal Latvia.[2]
