The 35th Wisconsin was organized at Milwaukee, Wisconsin and mustered into Federal service February 27, 1864.
The regiment was mustered out on March 15, 1866.

The 35th Wisconsin suffered 2 enlisted men killed or fatally wounded in action and 3 officers and 271 enlisted men who died of disease, for a total of 276 fatalities.[1]
