A&D Company, Limited (株式会社エー・アンド・デイ?) is a multi-national manufacturer of precision instruments for medical, laboratory, and other uses headquartered in Japan.[1] "A&D" stands for "analog and digital"[2] and is represented without any spaces (i.e. "A&D" as opposed to "A & D".)

The company has a great deal of expertise in the construction and operation of extremely high-precision measurement equipment. A&D engineers are occasionally contacted by scientists for advice in conducting laboratory experiments.[3]

The company was founded in 1977[1] by a group of 13 engineers who left Takeda Riken Industry Co., Ltd. (currently Advantest) in Japan.[4][5]

A&D was first listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in March 2006 as symbol 7745.

A&D Technology, Inc. is a U.S. subsidiary specializing in automotive engine measurement systems formed in 2004. In August 2005, A&D Technology purchased the Powertrain Technology Division of MTS Systems Corporation.[9] MTS Powertrain Technology Division was formed in 1999 from two experienced test cell product and services providers, DSP Technology and Powertek.[10]

In 2010 A&D Technology opened an EV/Battery Testing Center partnered with the State of Michigan's Green Jobs Strategy.[11]

A&D Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (simplified Chinese:爱安德电子（深圳）有限公司) is recognized as one of the major exporters of medical devices from China in its own right.[12] The production facility officially opened on August 1, 2003[13] creating products for export. On June 10, 2005, A&D officially launched the marketing of products to Chinese customers as well.[14]
