Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development

The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, or AFESD, is a Kuwait based, pan-Arab development finance institute. All members of the League of Arab States are members of the fund. As of 2003, it held around U.S. $7.3 billion in assets.
AFESD was established by agreement of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States. Its first meeting was held on February 6, 1972.
The current Chairman is Abdulatif Y Al-Hamad.
