A CAÑIZA, inland and mountain villa
Traveling on the N -120 Vigo - Logroño or the A- 52 of the Rias Baixas, you reach the village of A Cañiza, located south of Galicia, in the SE part of the province of Pontevedra. With an area of 108.1 km2, its population is approaching 7,200 inhabitants distributed in 9 parishes. A Cañiza is part of the region of A Paradanta .

Despite being the newest of the parishes which constitute the Municipal, if we consider its founding year, A Cañiza is today the most important of the nine that make up the town, to reside in it the capital of the municipality, to focus on the same most of the administrative services and for being home to the most population despite being the smallest in size . The first inhabitants of this parish were from nearby, especially Valeixe .
