Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields is a website started by Paul Freeman in 1999 that is an online database which aims to detail information on every closed airport in the United States. Freeman started the site in 1999, as he had an interest in old airfields in the country. With over 1,800 airports on the site, the site aims to chronicle all former airports, which close at about a rate of one per week.
A similar site operates in Europe to chronicle abandoned airfields on the continent.
