About page

An about page is a standard web page on a website, with the link to this page located on the upper left side of the home page or on the down side as part of a short colophon. When there's more space they are also called an about me page or about us page, depending on whether the site is created by a person or an organization. The page contains general information about the person or organization that is responsible for the website in question, with usually a description of the site's history and mission. This information serves as a context for first time visitors who do not yet have a clue where the website is about or for regular visitors who want to deepen their knowledge about the site.
