Acacia elongata is a perennial tree which is widely distributed throughout the world. It is unusual amongst the Acacias, since it flowers the whole year round.[2] Some common names for Acacia elongata are Retinodes Water Wattle, Swamp Wattle, Wirilda, Ever-blooming Wattle and Silver Wattle.[1] It grows to a height of 6-10m.[3]

Its uses include environmental management and it is used for ornamental purposes.[1] It produces good quantities of gum and its bark is good for tanning.[2]
