Academy figure
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A transcended academy figure by neoclassical painter Pierre Subleyras
An academy figure is a drawing, painting or sculpture of the nude human body executed after a live model, typically at half life size.
It is a common exercise required of students at art schools and academies, both in the past and present, hence the name.
