Frontec was founded in 1981 and was listed on the O-list of the Stockholm Stock Exchange 1995. Initially, the focus was heavily on technology, but since the early 1990s, the company concentrated more on delivering operational improvements and integration solutions.

Resco was founded in 1982 and developed during the 1990s an international consultancy firm with focus on integration and ERP systems. The company was listed on the O list of the Stockholm Stock Exchange 1996.

Acando was founded in 1999, focusing on offering competence in the fields of operations, IT and change management. The company reached over 300 consultants in a few years.

AcandoFrontec was formed by Acando and Frontec on 1 July 2003. A partnership was established with Webmedia Group, Estonia, aimed for offering of systems development services in a large part of northern Europe.

Acando was formed in March 2006 through the merger of the companies AcandoFrontec and Resco. Acando has a solid platform in northern Europe and within the areas of Microsoft Dynamics AX and SAP in Sweden. Acando is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange.

Acando is a Consultant within Information technology consulting, IT management and Management Consulting. Acando’s annual turnover exceeds EUR 135 million and the Group employs approximately 1,100 professionals in six European countries. In Sweden the company employs approximately 640 professionals organized in six business areas.[citation needed]

Denmark, Finland, Norway, U.K and Germany are separate business areas.

Carl-Magnus Månsson is Managing Director and CEO of the Acando Group. The Swedish operation is divided into the business areas: Business intelligence, IT Solutions, Management consulting, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP and Strategic IT. Christer Norrman is managing the Swedish operation and Olof Hedin is Sales Manager. In Sweden there are offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Linköping, Västerås, and Borlänge/Ludvika. The German operations include offices in Hamburg, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Michael Mörchen is in charge of business area Germany. In Finland Acando employs SAP consultants together with a recently established systems development operation, where the development resources are Baltic consultants. The Finnish operations are led by Ferhat Kaya.

Acando has also offices in Denmark managed by Anders Engdal, Great Britain managed by Phil Jacklin, and Norway is managed by Aasmund Frøseth.

At September 30, 2009 Acando had around 26,000 shareholders. Approximately 12 percent of the shares were owned by international investors and almost 22,000 of all shareholders own fewer than 1,000 shares.

Acando’s offering is aimed at the private sector and the public sector. In the private sector, the biggest segments are manufacturing industry, pharmaceuticals & medical devices and telecoms. Biggest customers include Airbus, Altia, AstraZeneca, DnB NOR, Ericsson, Politiets data- og materielltjeneste (Norwegian police), TeliaSonera, Vattenfall and Volvo.
