Accredited registrar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Accreditation of Certification Body)
An accredited registrar, also called an Accredited Certification Body (CB), is an organization accredited by a recognized accrediting body for its competence to audit and issue certification confirming that an organization meets the requirements of a standard (e.g. ISO 9001).
In effect, an accreditation body audits a certification body for its work results and management system much as a certification body audits an organization (supplier) for its work results and management system to increase confidence from a customer's viewpoint.
Examples of recognized bodies that accredit registrars are listed below.
