Achampet is a town which is located on foot hills of Nallamala Forest, on the state highway between Hyderabad and Srisailam, this town has population of more than 40,000, this is business center for surrounding villages.

This area so many years ruled under Kollapur and Kalwakurtha samsthans by Velamas then Nizam and after independence this area remained undeveloped for many years. Since a past 30 years this area is developing.

In past, once there lived a lady Achammamba from Kollapur Village came to deep forest there she fought against Mailk kaffur soldier general of Aurangazeb (Delhi sultan) as a Tribal war in past history came the village name as Achamghar now present naming as Achampet.
