Achterdijk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Zederik, and lies about 7 km northeast of Gorinchem.
The statistical area "Achterdijk", which consists of the hamlet and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 210.[1]
The name of the hamlet means "Back Dike"; it refers to the dike between Leerdam and Arkel.
