[edit] Personal life
Addie Land was born in Seattle, Washington, where she attended Nova High School. During an interview for Evergreen, Land stated "I have been taking drama classes since I was in, like 2nd grade. But they have all been for the stage, none for the film. And I never considered film." she later stated "I never thought it was an option, because so many great actors don't ever get a chance. And also, I just... love the stage and didn't think I wanted to do film.".[1]
[edit] Career
In 2004, Land made her movie debut in the drama film Evergreen. She would later appear in The Sasquatch Gang (aka The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang) and most recently Fortune Hunters.
Addie had spent many years training at the nationally prominent Seattle Children's Theatre when she was recommended to the director, Enid Zentelis, as a possible fit for the lead role in an indie movie to be filmed in the Pacific Northwest. Addie then won the part in the open audition. The movie, Evergreen, was in the dramatic competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and later was released to theater via an unusual direct to AMC theater release, and was the first film widely distributed to theaters via satellite. Addie won much praise for her portrayal of the lead character.[2] [3][4]
She was then cast as the lead girl in The Sasquatch Gang (2006), a comedy by the producer and many others from the Napoleon Dynamite team. She starred with Jeremy Sumpter, Justin Long, Rob Pinkston, and Hubbel Palmer. The Sasquatch Gang won the audience award at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival, and was released to theaters in 2007, and DVD in March 2008.[5]
