The Adelaide Sevens (also known as Australia Sevens) is a rugby union sevens tournament, part of the IRB Sevens World Series. The competition is currently held at the Adelaide Oval, South Australia. The inaugural competition, the 2007 Adelaide Sevens, took place on 7 and 8 April[1] and replaced the Singapore Sevens. The previous city to host an Australia Sevens tournament, in 2003, was Brisbane.

The 2011 Adelaide Sevens was the last edition of the tournament to be held in that city. In April 2011, the Australian Rugby Union announced that the country's leg of the Sevens World Series would move to Skilled Park in the Gold Coast for at least the next four years.[2] The tournament was initially renamed the "International Rugby Sevens Gold Coast",[2] but has since been rebranded as the Gold Coast Sevens.[3]
