Ahmed Shakar Karkarwas minister of Water and Energy Afghan Interim Administration between December 2001 and June 2002 as well as one of the five vice-chairman of the Interim Administration.[1] After the 2002 Loya Jirga Karkar was renamed as minister of Water and Energy in the Afghan Transitional Administration but lost his role as vice-chair. Karkar is an ethnic Uzbek and was a leader in the United Islamic Front. He is currently Minister of Commerce and Industries.
