SiteGuard is an Internet Explorer add-on developed by South Korean security software company AhnLab. It is compatible with IE version 6 or higher, and works under Windows XP, Vista and 7. It utilizes the V3 engine, also present in other AhnLab solutions to protect against phishing and infected webpages.

  • Filter malicious content.
  • Block malicious scripts.
  • Block known phishing websites from the Anti-Phishing Working Group list.
  • Packet filtering.

Unless configured otherwise, it reports every threat detected to AhnLab. Also, it comes with a built-in download manager. The program AhnLab Report, which provides information about the system, is also installed alongside SiteGuard.

Download and activation[edit]

Although listed and detailed in the English AhnLab website, the program itself isn't available there. It must be downloaded from the official website [1]. Even though the page is in Korean, the program is in English, for non-Korean systems. After installing, a start-up page explaining how to activate the program opens, however, the instructions are also in Korean. In order to use it, the user must first right-click and choose the option "Enable AhnLab SiteGuard."
