"Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" is a song by Van Halen, from their 1978 eponymous debut album.

When Eddie Van Halen originally wrote the song a year before the album was released, he did not consider it good enough to show his bandmates.[citation needed]

This song is also one of the few David Lee Roth-era songs that onetime replacement Sammy Hagar was willing to sing in concert when he joined the band in the mid-80's.[citation needed]

[edit] In popular culture

This song was the infamous "total dumpout" song for WNEW (Broadcast the metropolitan New York area) when the station used too much vulgarity or anything deemed obscene by the company. After too many "dumps" by a show, this song would start in order to give the master computer time to rebuild dump time on the radio station. The song would kick in when any show dumped out too much. Many times the theory to how much dump time were in the computer were challenged many a nights by the "Opie and Anthony" or "Ron and Fez" show between June 1998 and January 2003.

The song has also been played for many years at Gillette Stadium whenever the New England Patriots are able to force an interception or recover a fumble.
