AionGuard was a video game in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The game was announced as being canceled in February 2010,[1] though work on the project may resume at a later date.[2]
[edit] Background
The game was first announced in January 2009,[3] having already been in development for two years by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios.[4][5]
The gameplay was supposed to take place during the World War I era. However, the theme did not fit the publishers' line up and was changed to that of a science fiction setting, and subsequently to a fantasy setting when the science fiction theme conflicted with another game in the publishers' portfolio. Avalanche Studios later bought the rights to the game back from the publisher.[4]
