Aji Assamese Daily is an Assamese language newspaper published in Guwahati, Assam, India. (Aji = today).
On 2009-03-24 the executive editor of the paper, Anil Majumder, was shot dead. Majummder had been instrumental in reviving the paper, which had become almost defunct, in recent years.
Possibly he had been targeted because he had been "advocating talks between the ULFA and the government".[1]
