Al-Azhar University – Gaza (Arabic: جامعة الأزهر بغزة) is a Palestinian university established in 1991 in Gaza City, Palestinian territories.

History

The department of desalination was established in 1995 by Riyad Hassan El-Khoudary. The water research center is an independent non-government Palestinian institution.[1] In the late 1990s, the university opened a school of medicine in collaboration with Abu-Dis University in Jerusalem. The university is known for its prestigious pharmacy program.
