Al-Thawrah District (Arabic: الثورةAṯ Ṯawra) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Ar-Raqqah Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 159,840.[1] Its administrative centre is the city of Al-Thawrah.


The district of Al-Thawrah is divided into three sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):

  • Al-Thawrah Nahiyah (ناحية الثورة): population 69,425.[2]
  • Al-Mansurah Nahiyah (ناحية المنصورة): population 58,727[3]
  • Al-Jarniyah Nahiyah (ناحية الجرنية): population 31,688.[4]
