The Alabama Rural Heritage Center is located in Thomaston, Alabama, and was built by the Auburn University Rural Studio. The center is run by the non-profit Alabama Rural Heritage Foundation. The building is located off of Alabama Highway 25, on the former Marengo County High School Campus. It is recognized for its billboard-like sign, and annual summer festival, Rural Fun Day.

The center houses a Folk Art Gallery, Gift Shop, Meeting Facilities, Offices, and a Commercial Production Kitchen. RHC produces local food products under the "Mama 'nems" trademark. The recipes for their products were developed with the Auburn University College of Human Sciences through a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant.
