Alan Parker (born 26 August 1944, in Matlock, Derbyshire) is a British guitarist and composer. Parker was trained by Julian Bream at London’s Royal Academy of Music.
Parker was a successful session guitarist, starting in the late 1960's, who also played with Blue Mink,[1] The Congregation and Collective Consciousness Society.
Much of Parker's session work has gone uncredited but he has been named as the electric guitarist on Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man", The Walker Brothers' "No Regrets",[2] David Bowie's Diamond Dogs album,[3] Mike Batt's "The Ride to Agadir", and the Top of the Pops theme music version of "Whole Lotta Love".
Parker is now a composer for film and T.V. including ITN's News At Ten and BBC's Coast.
