ASTE was founded in 1981 and holds a quarterly conference where technology coordinators from across the state meet to present and share on a variety of technology topics.
ASTE, a non profit organization, has been in existence since 1981. In its infancy ASTE originated as Alaska Association for Computers in Education (AACED), whose primary purpose was to advocate, communicate and train education professionals.
Teachers attend ASTE for technology based professional development to better serve their students with technology infused curriculum.
